Forwarding Calls to Another Number
Your Blocx numbers are built for messaging, but you can also forward incoming calls to a phone of your choice — a cell phone, an office line, or a support desk. When call forwarding is on, anyone who dials your Blocx number is connected straight through to the destination you set.
Turning it on
- Go to Numbers → Manage and click the number you want to configure to open its detail page.
- In the Call forwarding section, switch on Forward incoming calls.
- Enter the destination number in E.164 format — a
+, the country code, then the number, with no spaces or dashes (for example,+15551234567). - Click Save.
That's it. New incoming calls to that number are now forwarded to the destination.
To stop forwarding, switch Forward incoming calls off and save. The number stops accepting calls again.
Billing
Forwarded calls are billed per minute, rounded up to the next whole minute, at your account's call-forwarding rate. You're only charged when a call actually connects to the destination — missed, busy, and failed calls are recorded but not billed.
The charge is drawn from your account balance and appears in your billing history as a Call forwarding line item. If your balance is empty, incoming calls are declined rather than forwarded, so a call can never push your account into the negative. Keep your balance topped up (or enable auto-recharge) to avoid interruptions.
Good to know
- One destination per number. Each number forwards to a single destination. Update it any time from the number's detail page.
- Caller ID. Forwarded calls show your Blocx number as the caller ID, not the original caller's number. This keeps calls reliably connecting.
- Call length. Individual calls have a maximum length and will end automatically when it's reached.
- Messaging is unaffected. Turning call forwarding on or off has no effect on SMS/MMS or the number's messaging profile.
